Webbing Slings from 1 to 12 Ton, Colour Coded

A webbing sling, also called a belt sling or lifting belt, is a flat sling that goes around the load and hangs from the hoist hook. The wide, soft webbing grips well and is gentle on painted, machined and polished surfaces, so riggers use it for motors, pumps, pipes, glass crates and finished parts.

About webbing slings

We sell webbing slings from 1 ton to 12 ton, each in lengths of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 m. Width goes up with capacity, from 25 mm on the 1 ton to 300 mm on the 12 ton. The colour shows the rating at a glance, following the international convention: violet 1 ton, green 2 ton, yellow 3 ton, grey 4 ton, red 5 ton, brown 6 ton, blue 8 ton and orange for 10 ton and above.

The rating on a sling is for a straight vertical lift. A choke hitch or an angled two-leg lift changes what it can carry, so choose with margin. Tell us the load and length on WhatsApp for today's price.

Buying tips

  • Choose the sling by its rating for the way you will rig it, because a choke hitch carries less than a straight lift.
  • Measure around or under the load and up to the hook, leaving enough length for a safe sling angle.
  • Protect the sling from sharp edges with corner pads or sleeves.
  • Never tie a knot in a webbing sling, and retire any sling that is cut, burnt or has a missing label.
  • Use the colour as a quick check, but always read the label for the working load.

Webbing Slings: common questions

What do the webbing sling colours mean?

The colour shows the rated capacity for a straight lift: violet 1 ton, green 2 ton, yellow 3 ton, grey 4 ton, red 5 ton, brown 6 ton, blue 8 ton and orange for 10 ton and above. Always confirm on the label.

Which lengths are available?

Every rating comes in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 m.

Does the capacity change with the hitch?

Yes. The label rating is for a straight vertical lift. A choke hitch reduces it, and in a basket hitch the capacity depends on the angle between the legs, so check the load chart.

When should a webbing sling be thrown away?

Take it out of use if it is cut, torn, burnt, chemically damaged or has broken stitching, or if the label is missing or unreadable.
