About the permanent magnetic lifter

A permanent magnetic lifter holds steel with a strong permanent magnet inside its body. Turn the handle to the on position and the lifter grips the plate. Turn it back and the plate releases. There is no cable, battery or power supply, so it works the same during a power cut.

Hung from a chain pulley block or electric hoist, it lets one person pick up plates and blocks without drilling lifting holes, fixing clamps or getting slings under the job. Fabrication shops, laser and plasma cutting units, press shops, tool rooms and mould makers use them to load machine beds and cutting tables.

We sell three sizes: 600 kg, 1000 kg and 2000 kg. The 600 kg and 1000 kg are listed at approx. 270 × 110 × 120 mm and about 21 kg each. The rating holds for clean, flat, thick mild steel in full contact with the magnet. Thin plate, rough, rusty or painted surfaces, curved or round stock and air gaps all reduce the safe load, sometimes by a lot. Ask us for the load chart and choose a size well above the plate weight.

Make sure the handle is fully locked in the on position before you lift, keep the plate low, and never carry it over anyone.

Features

  • Capacities: 600 kg, 1000 kg and 2000 kg
  • 600 kg and 1000 kg: approx. 270 × 110 × 120 mm, about 21 kg
  • Permanent magnet, no power needed
  • Hand lever to switch on and off
  • Lifts flat steel plates and blocks
  • Top eye for hanging from a hoist hook

Where it's used

  • Loading plates onto laser and plasma cutting tables
  • Moving dies and blocks in tool rooms
  • Feeding press shops
  • Steel stockyards and fabrication shops
  • Loading jobs onto milling and grinding machines

How to choose

  • Choose a size well above the plate weight, since the rating assumes clean, flat, thick steel.
  • Tell us the plate thickness, because thin sheet holds much less than the rating.
  • Use a larger model for round or curved stock, and confirm with the load chart.
  • Clean the contact surface before each lift.

Permanent Magnetic Lifter: common questions

Does it need electricity?

No. It works with a permanent magnet and a hand lever.

Can it lift stainless steel or aluminium?

Aluminium, brass and copper are not magnetic. Many stainless steels, including the common 304 grade, are non-magnetic or only weakly magnetic, so use it on mild steel and other magnetic steels.

Why does thin sheet hold less?

A thin sheet cannot carry the full magnetic force, so the grip is weaker than on thick plate. Ask us for the load chart by thickness.

How do I get the price?

Send the plate weight and thickness on WhatsApp and we will suggest a size with today's price.
