About the ratchet lever hoist

A ratchet lever hoist, sometimes called a lever block or pull lift, does the same job as a chain pulley block but works with a short lever in place of a hand chain. Each stroke of the lever moves the load chain a little. Flip the selector and the same lever lowers the load or lets the chain slack off.

With no hand chain hanging down, a lever hoist works lying flat, at an angle or upside down. Fitters use it to pull machines into line, tension wire ropes and stays, hold pipes and sections for welding, and lift in places where a chain block will not fit.

We sell lever hoists in 1.5 ton on 8 mm chain, and 3 ton and 6 ton on 10 mm chain, each with 3 m lift. They fit in a toolbox or site bag, so maintenance crews, electrical contractors and erection teams carry them from job to job.

For heavy straight lifts that happen often, a chain pulley block is easier on the operator. For short pulls, adjustments and awkward angles, choose the lever hoist. Send the job details on WhatsApp for today's price.

Features

  • Capacities: 1.5, 3 and 6 ton
  • Load chain: 8 mm (1.5 ton), 10 mm (3 and 6 ton)
  • 3 m standard lift
  • Lever operated, works in any direction
  • Lifts, pulls and tensions
  • Compact enough to carry to site

Where it's used

  • Pulling machines into alignment
  • Tensioning wire ropes and stays
  • Holding pipes and sections during welding
  • Lifting in tight spaces under structures
  • Fixing and tightening during erection work

How to choose

  • Choose a capacity above the heaviest pull or lift, allowing for the extra force needed to free a stuck load.
  • Use a lever hoist for pulls, angles and short adjustments; for long vertical lifts a chain pulley block is less tiring.
  • Anchor the top hook to a point stronger than the load.
  • Never extend the lever with a pipe for more force; if it is hard to pull, the hoist is overloaded.

Ratchet Lever Hoist: common questions

Can a lever hoist be used sideways?

Yes. It works in any direction, which is its main advantage over a chain pulley block.

What lift do your lever hoists give?

All three models come with 3 m lift.

Should I buy a lever hoist or a chain pulley block?

For straight vertical lifts, a chain pulley block. For pulling, tensioning and work in tight spaces, a lever hoist.

Can I put a pipe on the lever for more force?

No. A hard pull on the standard lever is your warning of overload, and extending it can break the hoist.
