About the cable puller

A cable puller is a hand-operated ratchet puller with a steel wire rope. Hook one end to a strong anchor and the other to the load, then work the handle. Each stroke draws the rope in, and the ratchet holds what you have gained between strokes. Release the ratchet to let the rope back out.

Electricians use cable pullers to pull and tension cables. Fabricators and riggers use them to straighten sections, pull frames square, tighten stays and drag machines into position. Farmers and transporters keep one for fencing, pulling out stuck vehicles and securing loads on trucks.

We sell cable pullers in 1, 2, 3 and 4 ton. They are light enough to carry to site and need no power, which makes them useful on remote jobs and anywhere a vehicle winch cannot reach.

A rope under tension can whip back if it slips or breaks, so stand to the side and keep others out of line with it. For overhead lifting, use a chain pulley block or lever hoist instead. Send the job details on WhatsApp for today's price.

  • Straightening and squaring fabricated frames

  • Vehicle recovery
  • Fencing work

How to choose

  • Choose a capacity above the pulling force needed, allowing extra for friction and stuck loads.
  • Anchor to a point stronger than the puller's rating.
  • Keep the rope straight and never let anyone stand in line with a rope under tension.
  • Do not extend the handle for more force; if it is too hard to pull, use a bigger puller.
